CAMPUS MAP AND QUICK GUIDES
Below, you will find an interactive map of the CSU campus. To use the map, click on the box with an arrow to open the navigational menu. From there, you can select a category, select a building, and get directions to that building by clicking the directions icon in the top corner of the location detail page.
If you don’t want to navigate to a specific building, click the full screen option to open in a new tab. This will give you the ability to search locations by building name.
Cleveland State University (CSU) maintains its own police force, comprising fully accredited and armed officers, as well as security personnel. These dedicated professionals collaborate with external agencies, including the Cleveland Police Department. They conduct regular patrols on foot, in cruisers, on motorcycles, and bicycles to ensure a safe and secure campus environment for everyone.
In addition to its police force, CSU has implemented an array of security measures, including:
- Mechanical Key System: A proprietary key system for controlled access.
- Electronic Card-Access System: Enhancing security through electronic card-based entry.
- Optical Turnstiles: State-of-the-art turnstiles to manage access.
- Alarm Systems: Providing alerts in case of emergencies.
- Emergency Blue-Light Phones: Strategically placed for immediate assistance.
- Emergency Mass Notification Systems: Ensuring timely communication during critical situations.
- Advanced Fire Alarm Systems: Detecting and responding to fire incidents.
- Video Surveillance: Utilizing nearly 1,000 cameras for enhanced monitoring and safety.
Contact CSUPD during an emergency:
- Call CSU Police by dialing 9-1-1 on any campus phone. Tell the operator immediately that you are a CSU student so they can patch you through to CSUPD instead of the city of Cleveland. CSUPD are on campus and will get to you most quickly!
- Emergency blue-light phone stations are placed around campus for quick access. Simply press the button to alert CSUPD.
- Rave Guardian app is a free app that connects you directly to CSUPD through a smartphone or mobile device.

CSU ALERT SYSTEM
The university also uses an emergency voice communication system, a national model for campus-wide notification of critical and timely information – such as evacuations or weather-related closures. The emergency mass notification system enables CSU to send out immediate messages to telephones, cell phones, email, text messages, satellite telephones and pagers.
Update how you receive CSU alerts in CampusNet from the homepage.

As a result of my resolution, all wireless infrastructure at CSU has been upgraded to modern equipment as of February 2024. Increased bandwidth has also been purchased, reducing outages dramatically.
However, if you still experience difficulty, you can visit the Service Portal – Cleveland State University (service-now.com). On this site, you can search a help database, chat with IS&T for guidance, and open a support ticket to report an issue.
But Wait!
